The Tascam TM-2X is a high-grade stereo condenser microphone, developed to make high-quality recordings with a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera. The TM-2X is equipped with two combined cardioid capsules and can be mounted on the shoe mount of your camera. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the microphone won't throw your camera off balance or get in the way during your shoots.
Tascam TM-2X condenser microphone
Photographers who are already familiar with Tascam's high-quality handheld recorders will welcome the TM-2X as a great addition to the on-board microphone of the DSLR camera. The rotatable construction of the microphone allows you to record sound from the front, the sides and the back of the camera, and a pad switch enables you to reduce the sensitivity of the microphone to prevent distortion caused by loud sound sources.
Plug-in power
The TM-2x can be connected by means of a 3.5mm mini jack and operates on plug-in power. A noise isolation arm is included to reduce the chance of camera noises, and an accessory windscreen prevents wind noise.

Ik film Show Dance optredens met mijn Nikon D5600 en soms ook concerten van het orkest waarin mijn dochter viool speelt. In plaats van een Rode Mono Videomic wilde ik nu voor weinig een stereo microfoon gebruiken.
Mijn eerste tests heb ik inmiddels gedaan bij een kamermuziek sessie en ik was positief verrast over de klank van het geluid. Lage klanken zijn iets minder prominent aanwezig, maar dat is achteraf wel te verbeteren.
Al met al voor de prijs is de geluids kwaliteit goed.
De stabilisatiearm is handig om de microfoon voorbij je camera lens te krijgen waardoor hij minder geluid van de lens motor oppakt. Het is echt wel erg plastik, maar doet zijn werk. En voor deze prijs hoor je mij niet klagen.

Ik gebruik deze microfoon op mijn videocamera en op de Tascam DR-60D MKII en de resultaten zijn erg goed.
Ik neem meestal wat hardere bluesrock muziek op dus de Sens switch op Low en de camera op -30dB. Het resultaat is erg goed voor zo'n kleine en relatief goedkope mic.
Als er al iets aan te merken is zou dat zijn dat het laag wat mij betreft iets voller zou mogen maar dat is wel na te bewerken. Het mid en hoog is prima in orde.
De microfoontjes kunnen omhoog en omlaag gekanteld worden voor beter richten. De "dead cat" gebruik ik om de mics tegen stof te beschermen, nog niet in winderige situaties gebruikt.

Helder geluid, met een fijne bas.
Ik heb hem getest door hem in een afgesloten doos te doen met een studio koptelefoon.
Hier was het geluid (op een lichte ruis na) bijna net zo goed als het origineel (het afgespeelde geluid).
De bovengenoemde ruis is aanwezig, ook met de low-cut filter, maar wordt minder als je de gevoeligheid van de microfoon op low zet.
De plug-in-power maakt dat het een lichte microfoon is, en werkt op (bijna) alle DSLR camera's en op de PC (dus ook handig voor Skype gesprekken).
Er wordt een noise isolation arm meegeleverd, waardoor de microfoon wat dichterbij het onderwerp staat. De bedrading kan makkelijk in de daarvoor bedoelde gleufjes geduwd worden, waardoor het geheel wat professioneler er uit ziet en de draden niet in de weg hangen. De meegeleverde deadkitten is makkelijk over de microfoon te schuiven, maar blokkeert de wind niet optimaal. Met de ventilator op stand 2 (3 stands) was al veel herrie te horen. Over het algemeen een hele degelijke microfoon!

Très bon produit, c'est du TASCAM...! Bonne conception, compacité,efficacité et facilité d'utilisation. Très bons résultats avec reflex Nikon D7100. Le son prend du relief, les bruits de fond sont nettement atténués.
La bonnette anti-vent est efficace. Manque juste une petit pochette pour le ranger dans la sacoche ou le fourtout. A utiliser sans modération.
