General

The Allen & Heath ZED R16 is a unique recording mixer with 18 FireWire inputs and outputs for use in the studio and on stage. Essentially, it's a combination of an analogue recording mixer, a FireWire audio interface, a MIDI controller, and an ingenious home-studio routing. Mix tracks in the studio and record live performances with a warm analogue sound, a classic British 4-band equalizer, and an accurate digital format.

The built-in audio interface has 18 FireWire inputs and outputs as well as 16 ADAT inputs and outputs. Each channel has a discrete interface channel, while the preamp has been specifically designed for the ZED R16 and features a symmetrical ultra-linear circuit. What's more, the very best low-noise transistors have been used, which makes the ZED R16's preamp one of a kind. Meanwhile, the comprehensive equalizer section has two full parametric mids, a high, and a low.

All things considered, this versatile mixer is ideal for various applications - whether in the studio or on stage!
