General
In the world of podcasting and live streaming, the Mackie M-Castor Studio might as well have been sent from above. Basically, this uber-compact desktop mixer can do it all. Plug in your microphone, throw in some effects and go! The M-Caster Studio is also Bluetooth-equipped, so you can stream directly via your smartphone or tablet, no matter the platform, and no matter if you're using iOS or Android, Windows or macOS. An external sampler or keyboard can be hooked up via the 3.5mm mini-jack input, or samples can be loaded in and saved to the three gigabytes of onboard memory to be called up later using the sample trigger pads lined up on the control panel, giving your productions a dynamic and professional finish.
Fifteen-Colour Backlit Controls and a Stack of Sound Effects
Another nice design detail is the RGB backlit controls and the light-up base, where the colours can be assigned (fifteen of them). This doesn't just help create the right atmosphere but keeps the cockpit clear and legible in low-lighting, and since you can colour code your controls, things are easily navigated. When it comes to effects, you're free to add reverb, delay and a range of other effects to your voice, and the M-Caster Studio even serves up a full stack of built-in samples, including horns, applause, the infamous Wilhelm Scream and plenty more, completing a small and space-saving, yet efficient and highly impressive little mixer.
