At the 2011 Musikmesse, Magic FX surprised everyone by introducing the Flamaniac. This five-way flamethrower creates spectacular flames on stage.

Technology of the Flamaniac

The Flamaniac features five separate outputs which are placed in a kind of rainbow shape. This gives them a rather wide range and allows for creative chases. Because the Flamaniac works on a special mix of propanol and alcohol, there's no need for gas canisters or cartridges.

Controlling the flamethrower

The Flamaniac can be controlled via DMX, but it does feature the necessary safety measures. There's one DMX channel available per output, plus an extra safety channel to lock and unlock the Flamaniac. This channel should be half open when you unlock the Flamaniac. This way, you'll make sure that the Flamaniac doesn't emit flames when you press the 'full on' button.
