General
The Moog Etherwave Theremin is one of the oldest electronic musical instruments ever invented - Bob Moog's design is almost an exact copy of Leon Theremin's original. This construction kit enables you to build your very own Etherwave Theremin Plus, so you'll be able to create the futuristic, once revolutionary sounds yourself. You can play the Theremin by moving your hands along the two antennas without touching them, varying the distance in between to affect the tone and the volume.
Etherwave Plus: the ideal controller and performance instrument
The CV (Control Voltage) outputs of the Etherwave Plus transmit the pitch and volume information of your audio signal. Connect a Little Phatty, Voyager or other analogue synthesizer to the CV pitch and volume connectors, and you're able to play your synth in a way that you never even thought was possible. The CV signals are not merely limited to pitch and volume, though - connect them to any CV-compatible instrument and enter a whole new world of expression. You'll be able to control anything ranging from the frequencies of a Moog Ladder Filter and the LFO of a Moogerfooger Ring Modulator, to the stereo panning of a Minimoog Voyager.
Included in the kit
This construction kit contains all the separate components you need to build your own Moog Etherwave Theremin Plus. The included ash cabinet is untreated and can be customised at will, and the printed circuit board has already been assembled for your convenience - all that's left is some simple soldering. A good deal of information on how to construct and play this remarkable and unique instrument is also provided, including an instruction DVD with two video tutorials.
