Produce album ready recordings courtesy of mighty hex-core DSP processing and onboard, real-time effect plugins, all housed in the neat and rack-moutable Universal Audio Apollo x6. The spec-sheet of this unit amounts to a must-have for any self-respecting producer, audio engineer, or even any serious home studio. The Apollo x6, like many other of Universal Audio's offerings, features Unison supported preamps, making it possible to treat recordings with hyper-accurate emulations of iconic Neve, Manley, API and SSL rack units. Plug in a microphone or instrument and the x6 will coat the sound with the flavour of the golden-age of recording. And, since this is a Thunderbolt 3 interface, it all happens via near-zero latency.
An Unbelievable Powerhouse
The hex-core mentioned above means that a mass of plugins can be stacked and run directly from the 6x itself. Everything is handled by the interface, using up no CPU and leaving your computer free to concentrate on other tasks. Up to four Apollo 6x interfaces can also be chained and cascaded to gain up to 156 audio channels, and if you already have an Apollo Twin or x4, you can control it all from your desktop.
Impedance Matching & Breathtaking Conversion
The AD/DA conversion here is nothing short of world-class and the recording sits at a maximum sample rate and resolution of 192kHz at 24 bits. The Hi-Z input preamps as well as the microphone input preamps feature Universal Audio's own Unison technology, meaning that as soon as you jack in a guitar or bass, the sound can be sent through a virtual amplifier stamped with names like Marshall or Ampeg. The instrument and microphone input impedance is even automatically adjusted to match the original amplifiers and preamps the plugins are designed to mimic, resulting in a pure and authentic dynamic response. Basically, this inspired audio interface is guaranteed to slap a grin on the face of even the most picky of engineers.
