Universal Audio Apollo 8P Quad: microphone preamps
If you'd like to add some warmth to your recordings, the right preamp goes a long way. Fortunately, Universal Audio has quite a lot of expertise in that area. Their Unison circuit, which is found in many preamplifiers, is modelled by the Apollo 8P's preamps, enabling you to enjoy that familiar tube sound on all eight inputs. The interface's microphone inputs run via XLR/jack combo connectors, which are complemented by two front-mounted Hi-Z inputs for electric guitar and bass. The routing for these inputs is determined by means of an included console application.
UAD processing
The Universal Audio company has a rich history that includes, among other things, the basic design of the modern-day mixer. The manufacturer also produces various dynamic processors.
