The Sound Devices MixPre-3 audio interface from the MixPre series is a compact product that gives the competition a run for their money. Mount it to your DSLR camera and you've got a high-quality recorder for capturing your camera microphone(s). the signal quality is excellent thanks to the on-board Kashmir microphone preamps. Store your recordings on an SD card in pure WAV format. You can also use the MixPre as a USB audio interface in your (music)studio and store your files on an SD while sending the signals to your DAW via USB at the same time.

Escribió lo siguiente sobre Sound Devices MixPre-3

Update: een lichtpuntje: afgelopen week verdween ineens het supported camera van de website van de fabrikant. En zowaar: en dag later verscheen er een upgrade (5.00, dag later 5.01) met uitgebreidere camera support - enkele jaren na de introductie van het apparaat. Er is nog niet specifiek aangegeven welke specifieke cameras nu wel werken, maar de nieuwe handleiding noemt nu onder meer ook de merken Nikon, FUIJIFILM en RED.

Na enig testen kreeg ik timecode met de Nikon Z7 aan de praat, maar alleen bij lage resoluties of frame rates (!!) (*) Met een Nikon D500 of D800E kreeg ik het niet aan de praat. Devies: toch even eerst testen voordat je dit apparaat koopt.

*: in theorie zou het ook kunnen dat de door mij gebruikte micro-HDMI naar mini-HDMI kabel niet goed werkt bij de hoge datarates bij 4K beeldtransmissie. Dit type kabel is echter nagenoeg nergens te krijgen en de enige die ik vond (en kocht) was wel duur naar had geen specificaties. Als iemand nog deze kabels weet te vinden, hou ik me aanbevolen!!! (En het zou sowieso goed zijn als fabrikanten deze toch al problematische micro-HDMI adapter zoveel mogelijk zouden mijden...)

Escribió lo siguiente sobre Sound Devices MixPre-3

De MixPre 3 (II), 6 (II) en 10T (10II) zijn hele, hele mooie apparaten. Het belangrijkste verschil met de goedkopere modellen Mixpre 3M, 6M en 10M is dat ze een HDMI ingang hebben en daarmee een timecode koppeling aan een videocamera of fotocamera (via HDMI) ondersteund.

Maar LET OP: de timecode synchronisatie en de start/stop via de camera werkt slechts op een heel beperkt aantal modellen camera's! Zo worden onder meer Nikon camera's in het geheel niet ondersteund. Kijk eerst even op https://www.sounddevices.com/supported-cameras/ of de camera die je hebt wel werkt...
