The superior preamps and conversion of the Slate Digital VRS8 audio interface combine with the virtual microphone collection wielded by the single ML-1 modelling mike included, elevates any studio to the next level. The VRS8 provides eight inputs compatible with both microphone and line signals, and inputs 1 and 2 can also take Hi-Z instruments like a guitar or bass. In terms of output, you're utterly assured of latency-free high-performance via the fitted Thunderbolt 2 port.
The ML-1 Modelling Microphone
While the perfect microphone for every style, voice, or instrument just doesn't exist, the Slate Digital ML-1 comes pretty close. In the first place, the physical microphone itself is a remarkably transparent large-diaphragm condenser with a cardioid pickup pattern, and when you add the included software, the signal of the mike can be made to mimic the acoustic characteristics of your high-end microphone of choice. As such, set with nothing but the ML-1, you essentially have unlimited access to an astronomically expensive microphone collection. This is before we even touch on the available virtual preamps, and the fact that Slate Digital are constantly busy with fresh virtual microphone models.
