General
Forming the core of a hefty modular studio setup, the Cranborne Audio 500R8 USB audio interface doesn't just supply a monitor section, but a bank of eight 500 Series module slots - fully prepping it for a custom recording and mixing layout.
Recordings with Character
There are near-countless 500 Series modules out there right now, so - budget permitting - building your own high-spec recording rig is more straightforward than ever. You could easily fill the eight slots of the 500R8 with an array of preamps to mix your own signature sonic colours and maybe squeeze in some equalisers and compressors. Using the chain switches found on the front panel, the audio send from one slot can be fed to the next, and as a smart perk, every slot can be separately recorded to your DAW.
Analogue Mixing
Tracks and buses can be sent directly to one of the modular slots, so you can engage your analogue equalisers and compressors during the mixing phase. But that's not everything: thanks to the mixer section fitted beneath each slot, the 500R8 can even serve as an eight-channel summing mixer and from there, the mix can be recorded back to your DAW via inputs 9 and 10. Of course, no studio mixer would ever be complete without a monitor section, and here, you gain the option of hooking up two speaker pairs as well as the convenience of mono and mute switches and direct level control over a talkback microphone (not included).
