The Behringer UMC1820 is a comprehensive audio/MIDI interface that works with 96kHz (24-bit) resolution for professional conversion and audio quality. Thanks to Behringer's collaboration with MIDAS, the UMC1820 has 8 outstanding mic preamps with phantom power for your condenser microphones. The preamps have outstanding headroom and response, and the low-noise components guarantee spotless audio transmission. Furthermore, the 18 inputs and 20 outputs stream to Mac or Windows computers with low latency. The UMC1820 is compatible with all accessible DAWs, including ProTools, Ableton and Cubase.
There are a number of controls available for recording and playback situations. You have a switchable direct monitoring option, for instance, for a 'clean' incoming audio signal. In addition, there's also a stereo/mono switch and a rotary knob for adjusting the balance between input and playback. Along with analogue connectors, the UMC1820 also has an optical input and output that supports A/PDIF, ADAT and S/MUX up to 96 kHz. Connect the optional Behringer ADA8200 to the ADAT input and you'll have no fewer than 16 MIDAS preamps at your disposal.
This 18x20 box has a 1U rack size, so it can be easily integrated with multiple models in a professional audio setup. Depending on how you wish to place the UMC1820, you can also remove the rack ears.
