A real home studio centrepiece, the Behringer Studio L monitor controller is not just able to switch between two sets of monitors during the mix-down stage, but doubles as an audio interface complete with two renowned Midas preamps. Plug a microphone into one of the preamps and remotely communicate with the recording artist using the built-in talk-back function and allow your production partner or client to listen in using the two headphone outputs. The control panel provides a Trim pot for volume matching, and since checking that the mix sounds just as good in mono as it does in stereo, a mono button has also been fitted. The giant, tactile volume control knob is no ordinary volume knob - ordinary volume knobs can often cause phase problems and distort the stereo image - instead, this is a stereo tracking VCA volume control. This means that the audio isn't just sent directly through the volume potentiometer; the volume is actually managed by a separate Voltage Controller Amplifier circuit, assuring you of accurate and clean results. In short, once you've got your hands on a Behringer Studio L monitor controller, you'll probably never want to let it go.

Aangeschaft voor gebruik bij mijn laptop. Maar toen begon de ellende... 50hz lichte brom op de uitgangen A/B/Tape richting mijn versterker. Geen brom op de uitgangen headphones 1/2.
De oorzaak is afkomstig van de laptop adapter (100% getest) en dit was ook met een andere goedkope Behringer usb geluidskaart. Brom is eruit door wat versterkers met elkaar te aarden.
Wat Xander beschrijft met de koptelefoon volume knoppen klopt precies én wat me nog meer opviel is dat wanneer het ingang signaal boven +2 dB is er zelfs geluid uit de headphones out komen, ondanks deze helemaal dicht staan. Dit heeft wel wat weg van een ontwerpfout.
De Behringer Studio L is wel zijn geld waard.

Ik merk wel als je de koptelefoonknoppen dichtdraait dat op het einde de balans tussen links en rechts fluctueert. Nu, zo stil zet je je hoofdtelefoon nooit, maar het zegt wel iets over de draaiknoppen.
De VU-meter is handig en strak vormgegeven. Verder spreekt de bediening van de controller voor zich. Over de klank kan ik me maar weinig uitspreken want het is mijn eerste controller. Voor mij klinkt het prima, ik hoor niks dat er niet moet zijn.
Het oppervlak is wel gevoelig aan vette vingerafdrukken.
