General
The Discrete 4 audio interface owes its name to its four discrete console-grade preamps. These offer up to 121 dB of dynamic range along with the possibility to use modelling microphones and the renowned real-time FPGA effects. Antelope Audio is well known for its high-end clocking and this unit has two word clock outputs that send a stable pulse to external equipment. This version of the Discrete 4 also comes with comprehensive vintage FPGA effects that include compressors and EQs by BAE, Lang, Gyraf Audio, FET and Grove Hill. The interface also has top-quality guitar simulation software.
Microphone Modelling
Microphone modelling is possible thanks to the Accusonic 3D modelling engine and preamp models. Antelope's own Edge and Verge modelling microphones will ensure top-quality results in your studio. The FPGA platform gives you a selection of classic microphone models and preamp models to choose from. The FPGA platform is so powerful that everything runs through the Discrete 4 without delay. Because everything is handled by the FPGA chip, your processor won't be taxed either, no matter whether you're recording or monitoring directly with stacked effects.
