General
In their Exotic Woods line, Ibanez offers a range of acoustic guitars that are made of exquisite wood types with a unique look. This AEW model guitar with a Natural High Gloss finish, for instance, has a back and sides made of a characteristic mosaic of spalted maple, rosewood and walnut. Of course, each individual guitar has its own distinct pattern. These guitars, including the AEW51, have a body shape that's based on the Jumbo model, and feature a soft Florentine cutaway. As such, every Ibanez AEW has a characteristic acoustic sound that carries well, and you can comfortably play solos quite high up on the neck.
AEW51-NT: dynamic, prominent and bright
The sitka spruce top with a rosette of spalted maple and rosewood offers a beautiful contrast to the aforementioned sides and back. Furthermore, the wealth of wood types is completed by the set-in mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. All in all, you end up with a dynamic, broad and articulate acoustic base sound with focused trebles, emphasised mids and subtle sustain. As such, the AEW-51-NT is extremely well-suited to rhythmic strumming, as well as picking with both a pick and your fingers.
Fishman Sonicore and AEQ-SP2
The Ibanez AEW51-NT is equipped with a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp to take care of its amplified sound. Both the pickup and the preamp work to let this guitar's natural sound shine through. With the 2-band equalizer you can even adjust the sound, should the need arise. What's more, the built-in tuner makes sure that you'll never have to be off-key when you're playing. Finally, there's the built-in XLR connector, that allows for excellent flexibility on stage. The best part, of course, is that the Ibanez Multi-wood AEW offers all this at a remarkably reasonable price!
