A hollow design with F-holes, a mahogany body topped with solid spruce and a retro vibe all around: the Gretsch G9555 New Yorker Archtop embodies classic '50s style. Here, the whole nine yards include a faux tortoiseshell scratch-plate, open-gear Grover machine heads, a period-correct trapezoid tailpiece and a pre-installed set of .012-.052 D’Addario EHR350 Half Rounds to guarantee the extra playing comfort of a lower action.

Vintage Looks With Tone to Match

The grand auditorium-style body of the Gretsch 9555 helps to forcefully project a full foundation sound with outspoken lows and mids, while the solid top only further intensifies the sound and weaves extra warmth. Hooked up to an amp, the tone of the vintage-style single-coil pickup can be tweaked using a no-fuss volume pot, preparing the sound for any style ranging from jazz to acoustic pop.
