General

Since it's a touch smaller than a dreadnought, the 000 acoustic body shape is a guitarist favourite. Here, Fender fit it with a Strat-style C-profile neck complete with 6-in-line headstock and call it the Newporter Classic. The flatter 15.75-inch radius of the pau ferro fretboard further supports the snug playing comfort this electro-acoustic has to offer by accommodating supple note bends and fast riffs. The classic Fender headstock and linear machine heads are certainly a little alien to an acoustic model but don't just look pretty - they're what give this guitar its enhanced tuning stability.

The Newporter Classic: Natural Resonance and Broad Dynamics

The mahogany neck is bound to a body built by a solid spruce top and solid mahogany sides and back, shaping a resonant acoustic sound and a broad dynamic range. The transparent tone is framed by the kind of light warmth needed for both finger and plectrum style playing, and to faithfully amplify this balance, a Fishman-Fender developed preamp has been installed and specifically calibrated according to the shape of the Newporter, giving it a pure and natural on stage sound.
