Ortega's OPAL-NY-AGB is an electro-acoustic classical guitar with a narrow neck and a thinline body which makes it extremely comfortable to play. The string nut width of 46 mm is similar in size to steel-string acoustic and electric guitars making this model an excellent choice for players looking to switch to a classical instrument. Unlike standard classical guitars, this model also has a 2-way truss rod that improves neck stability and means it's adjustable too. The OPAL-NY-AGB is part of Ortega's Jewel series and it comes with a deluxe gig bag and a suede leather guitar strap.

OPAL-NY-AGB: wood types and sound

The OPAL-NY-AGB has a beautiful back made of flamed mahogany while the sides and neck are made of mahogany too. Combined with the solid spruce top, this thinline Ortega produces a full sound with excellent dynamics that include all of the nuances in your playing. The fretboard and bridge are made of rosewood. The Fishman Clasica II preamplifier faithfully reproduces the acoustic sound when you plug this classical guitar into an amp and you can then customise the sound using the volume, bass and treble controls. There's also a phase switch to prevent problems with feedback and a built-in tuner to help you get started quickly.
