General
With their Affinity Series Strats, Squier put that deluxe feel and a few other strands of Fender DNA within affordable reach. Takings things one step further, this limited FSR model adds a few sweet upgrades, including a tight black paint-job and a matching scratchplate. Here, FSR means Factory Special Run, while 'HSS' refers to the pickups that this particular Strat has been loaded with. So, next to a passive humbucker, the build includes two single-coils, plus a five-way pickup switch and a full set of tone controls for maximum sonic flexibility. Meanwhile, top-notch playability is taken care of by a satin-gloss-coated maple neck with a slim C-profile, and Squier have installed modern hardware including a stable two-point tremolo bridge and upgraded split-shaft machine heads to seal up the tuning stability.
