Had the Litejam for some time now and I bought it with an open mind. Before I clicked the buy now button,I sat and watched several reviews. Most were very good yet some had complained about faulty lights on the fretboard and experiencing a lot of noise when using high gain. Well I have to say, so far my experience has been really good.
Firstly I’m pleased to say that everything works just as it should and arrived in perfect condition.
Next I’d say that as a stand alone instrument it is way better than I expected. The fretboard is really smooth without any nasty fret ends. It’s comfortable and easy to play which for players like myself….a novice….i think this is important. The pickups to me sound absolutely fine and the set up straight from the box is again really good.
I have several big brand guitars which cost over twice what the Litejam does and although I’m not necessarily saying it’s a better guitar it is definitely up there in the quality department.
As a learning tool which is most likely why you’d buy one it is excellent. I ve been playing off and on for years and never really made huge progress but this has changed that. Having everything light up in an instant is way easier than referring to diagrams and videos. The first day I started learning new chords and scales and now everything is making a lot more sense as well.
The only thing that some might not like is the noise from the pickups. This only happened when the lights are on using high gain settings. For me it’s not a problem at all as I rarely practice with distortion. I ll usually learn something clean before cranking up the crunch. I think this could also be sorted using a noise gate.
It’s for this reason only, I give it a four and not five stars. Other than that I absolutely love it and it’s now my go to guitar. The noise thing is definitely not a deal breaker and is still perfectly useable.
