Honouring 140 years of the Gretsch legend, this limited edition Electromatic Series 140th Double Platinum G5230T-140 Jet doesn't just come with all the trimmings, but comes wrapped in a hard-to-resist two-tone finish. The face has been dipped in fresh Stone Platinum lacquer while the sides and back have been given a shimmering coat of Pearl Platinum, completing an exclusive colour contrast. From there, the tried-and-trusted build of the popular single-cut Jet has been retained, from the chambered mahogany body and glued solid maple top to the snug lines of the thinline body.
The Gretsch G5230T-140 Electromatic 140th Double Platinum Jet: Light Playability
Your fret hand is treated to light and fast playability of the U-profile carve of the set-in mahogany neck, the flat and familiar 12 inch fretboard radius and the set of twenty-two medium frets. The Anchored Adjust-O-Matic bridge provides the necessary stability, while the Bigsby B50 vibrato tailpiece planted behind it opens up the creativity. The naturally full and woody acoustic sound of the special edition Double Platinum Jet is lent tight and sparkling amplification by the mounted pair of FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups. Scroll through the full-range, elastic tone on offer via the familiar set of controls and three-way switch to open up classic Gretsch-flavoured sound.

Jag är positivt överraskad av kvalitén för en gitarr i denna prisklassen.
Finishen är mycket bättre i verkligheten.

De gitaar was erg snel bezorgt en uitstekend verpakt.
Eenmaal uitgepakt meteen mee gaan spelen. Speelt uitstekend. Geweldig geluid, je blijft er mee spelen en er komen telkens nieuwe dingen uit je vingers.
Toch een paar puntjes: Het totaal afwezig zijn van een handleiding of een garantiekaartje of een labeltje aan de gitaar of wat dan ook. Bij een double platina edition had ik wel iets meer branding verwacht. Verder had ze iets beter afgesteld mogen worden en zit een klein beetje een rateltje in op bepaalde fretten. De veer van de tremelo zat niet goed in in de zitting van de tremelo zelf. De brug pickup heeft iets minder volume dan de nek pickup, ofschoon een meeting aangeeft dat deze iets "hotter" zou moeten zijn, kortom dingen die met een goede setup wel te corrigeren zijn. Verder had ik op dag 2 geen geluid meer bij de brug pickup, daar bleek de shielding wire van de pickup in contact te komen met het signaal. Even de kabeltjes wat buigen bij de potmeters loste dit snel op.
Dit alles zorgde er wel voor dat ik maar vier sterren kon geven.
Verder wel heel blij met mijn aankoop :-)
