Fret-King's Country Squire Classic from their Black Label Series beautifully blends tradition and innovation into one usefully adaptable electric guitar that has not only remained affordable but offers a wide array of possible sounds. This T-style model is fitted with quality Wilkinson E-Z Lok machine heads, so it won't take you long to replace the strings and, as a great and practical extra, Fret King throw in a luxury gig bag with this modern classic.

The Country Squire Classic: Usefully Adaptable

The foundation for this Fret-King guitar is its American alder solid body and while the pickup at the neck looks like a humbucker, it's actually a 3+3 double-coil. This means that using the Vari-Coil switch, you can switch from the original warm and full sound to traditional single-coil tone. The bridge pickup, on the other hand, guarantees that authentic '52 'Nashville snap' backed by a little raw power and a clear emphasis on the mids so your sound doesn't wash out in the mix. To complete both the looks and the sound of the guitar, it's been mounted with a Wilkinson bridge with steel base plate.

Malgré quelques déboires à la réception de cette guitare (que j'ai failli renvoyer): les cordes frisaient;le trussrod invisible, ce qui pouvait laisser penser qu'il n'existait pas, j'ai découvert juste avant de la ré-expédier qu'il était simplement bouché! une fois le problème réglé et la guitare accordée,quelle découverte! des sonorités superbes, une maniabilité extra. Déçu au départ, je ne regrette vraiment pas mon achat. Seul bémol: il me semble que le contrôle qualité du fabriquant soit quand-même un peu juste. Demandez la vérification et la préparation de votre guitare avant l'envoi. Sinon, c'est vraiment top.
