General
The Fender Custom Shop Limited Heavy Relic Mischief Maker is a fun Strat/Tele hybrid with plenty of battle scars that have been artificially applied to give it an authentic vintage look. In the '60s there was often a shortage of plain coloured Stratocaster bodies, and Fender solved this problem by painting over Sunburst finished versions. The Mischief Maker looks like it came straight from that period, as the 3-Color Sunburst lacquer peeps out from under the Olympic White finish in places where the 'damage' is the worst. In short, this American-made guitar is a real eye-catcher and a true work of art.
Heavy Relic Mischief Maker: versatile sound
A Fender Strat is always a highly versatile instrument, but the Heavy Relic Mischief Maker takes that up a notch. Underneath its vintage exterior, you'll find that it's a highly modern guitar. For instance, it features a Greasebucket tone circuit and a Blender neck pickup control, resulting in seven possible pickup combinations that you can further fine-tune to suit your style. It also offers excellent playing comfort, thanks to its tinted birdseye maple neck with 21 jumbo frets and a V profile. What's more, it's actually a Telecaster neck that's connected to a Stratocaster body!
