With the Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Roasted '61 Strat Super Heavy Relic, you're getting something genuinely special. This collector's item features a one-off Aged Sherwood Green over 3-Color Sunburst finish, where the top coat has been artfully worn away to reveal the undercoat and the wood of the body, giving this instrument all the looks of a played-in and lovingly seasoned stage-horse - and that's just the start. The two-piece alder body has been roasted, which doesn't just lend the wood a darker tint, but removes any excess moisture from the fibres to boost the natural resonance and sustain.

For the same reason, the quarter-sawn maple neck has also been given the roasted treatment, while the backside has been finished with a familiar C-profile carve and the front-side has been topped with a flat-laminated rosewood fretboard. The traditional Fender 9.5 inch fretboard radius is also fully supported by a full set of twenty-one 6100 jumbo frets, completing that high-grade, buttery-smooth playability. Since this guitar isn't just a super-serious instrument but a super-serious investment, it comes with a deluxe case, pre-filled with a strap and Certificate of Authenticity.

Fierce & Versatile Sound

The Custom Shop team has decked out this Fender Strat with a set of Custom Shop Hand-Wound Texas Special Single-Coil Strat pickups. These spiced-up pups guarantee beautifully balanced yet searing output which, in true Stratocaster style, can be dialled in to back up everything and anything, no matter the genre and no matter the playing style. A sweet extra perk also comes in the form the '1/2 blender' wiring, which enables the neck and bridge pickups to be combined in positions 1 and 2 of the five-way selector switch. In short, you're looking at an insanely adaptable instrument that brings its own unique character to the game.
