Part of the 2023 run of Mid-Year LTD Series models, the Fender Custom Shop presents the singular Limited Edition Reverse '50s Telecaster. This one-off Tele comes in a Relic Aged Black nitrocellulose lacquer, features an authentic worn-in feel and has been stamped with its own unique serial number, R125768. Definitely put together specially for the more discerning Tele connoisseur, this stone-cold treat of a six-string has all the vibes of a model that's seen decades of touring life already. It also comes complete with a deluxe hardshell case as well as a matching strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Reverse '50s Telecaster: Pure Joy
The playability of this unique model is just as satisfying as the matured finish. The Nocaster body has been hewn from two chunks of ash joined via a specially developed offset seam - a detail that will immediately please those in-the-know. The one-piece neck has been carved from stable, high-density rift-sawn maple before being given a 1957 Soft V profile, supplying the thumb of your fret-hand with a smooth path all the way up the fretboard, especially when you're reaching around to fret bass notes to voice some tasteful chords and lead licks. At the heel pocket, a Limited Edition four-bolt neck plate, tastefully engraved with the Fender Custom Shop logo and serial number has been mounted to fully polish off the exclusive vibe.
Expressive Fifties Nocaster Sound
To pack this guitar with authentic fifties-era Tele sound, the Limited Edition Reverse '50s Telecaster doesn't just boast a pair of hand-wound Custom Shop '50/'51 Blackguard single-coils, but Modified Nocaster wiring and a more practical reversed control plate where the three-way switch is shifted to the back. The bridge pickup has also been reversed to tighten up the basses and round off the trebles, packing all of that tasty and timeless twang and bite with more expressive potential than ever. Meanwhile, three compensated brass saddles prevent the trebles from getting too shrill and help deepen the tone overall by balancing the basses and sweetening the mids. And, to finish, the fretboard has been decked out with a set of twenty-one Medium Vintage 47095 Jescar frets. This, coupled with a compound radius that warps from an ultra-round 7.25 inches at the headstock to a more standard 9.5 inches at the body, eases string bends and supports comfortable hammer-ons, pull-offs and chord grabs across the board.
