As the opposite of a classic instrument being given a new coat of paint, these brand new guitars were artificially aged and constructed to be vintage correct. For people who love the sound of an old 1956 model guitar, but don't have the budget to pay for an original Strat from those days, this instrument is definitely worth a look. This unusual Fender Stratocaster is built to the specifications of the original 1956 model. As such, it features a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck with a V profile and the classic 9.5" fretboard radius. Its body features the deep contours of the time, as well as a vintage-style tremolo and brand new (but artificially aged) hardware. The master luthiers in Corona went all out for this Fender Limited 1956 Relic Strat. They've even given it a vintage-correct Sonic Blue finish, which they've given an authentic faded look.

We haven't even mentioned its sound! As original 1956 single-coil pickups are rather hard to come by these days, the Fender Custom Shop has recreated them from scratch, using the original specificatoins. The middle pickup was even reverse-wound to reverse its polarity. All of it was done by hand! What's more, this guitar also features the famous Tone Saver Treble Bleed circuit There are a few modern touches though, such as 5-way pickup switch which replaces the traditional 3-way switch, to allow you to fully utilise this unique guitar's rich sound. The result is a Stratocaster with an authentic 1956 look and sound, bringing the original icon closer than ever!

In the Fender Custom Shop, an American icon is brought back to life after 60 years. Fender used a few 1956 Stratocasters as the base for their Limited Edition Relic Stratocaster. Of course there is no replacing the originals, but the master luthiers in Corona got eerily close by using the 1956 specs as a starting point. Finally, Custom Shop guitars are artificially aged, so they have the look to match their great vintage-correct sound.
