General

The Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster (Candy Apple Red) is a red electric guitar that seems to have dropped straight out of the sixties. Custom Shop guitar builder Christopher Fleming, who laid his hands on the Baja once before, opted for a rather interesting upgrade. To provide this guitar with an extra powerful sixties vibe, he fitted it with a comfortable C-profile neck (instead of a V profile) and a rosewood fretboard. Additionally, there's a pleasantly lightweight alder body and two utterly convincing vintage-style Tele pickups.

Classic Player Baja '60s CAR: vintage and modern

In the bridge position of the Baja '60s there's an American Vintage '58 Tele pickup and at the neck, a '52 Tele does its work. Together, they produce that unmistakably bright Telecaster sound. What's more, these pickups are normally only found on the luxurious American Vintage series, meaning that you are assured of an excellent sound that accurately represents that of the original Tele pickups. This Baja is also excellently suited for the demanding modern-day guitarist as you can use the S1 switch (housed in the volume knob) to phase out positions 2 and 4, creating a thinner sound.

Classic Player series guitars

Guitars from the Classic Player series, sprung from the Classic line, are modelled after traditional Telecasters, Stratocasters, Jazzmasters and Jaguars but are extra notable because of the addition of several special, modern features. For instance, they offer a choice from a broad selection of pickups (ranging from classic pickups to modern, high-output versions), and each model features a relatively flat fretboard radius for extra comfortable playing. Additionally, instruments from this series - introduced in 2006 - are characterised by a vintage-style neck profile.
