General

Fender's American Performer series is the spiritual successor to the American Special series. If you want to get your hands on a real American Stratocaster at an attractive price, this model is it! It has a maple neck and fretboard that add brightness to its sound. The neck has a modern C profile with a rounded 9.5-inch radius and there are 22 jumbo frets that enhance its playing comfort. Fender have even included a deluxe gig bag.

American Performer Stratocaster: highly-versatile sounds

This Strat has an alder body and is equipped with newly-developed Yosemite single-coil pickups that have flat-staggered poles giving them extra output and really letting the dynamics in your playing shine through. They also have a shellac coating to prevent problems with feedback. The tone potentiometer has a push/pull function that gives you even more sound possibilities from the neck pickup.

Quality components

Stable tuning is one of the most important aspects of any string instrument. That's why Fender have equipped this Stratocaster with ClassicGear machine heads. While they have a vintage look, they offer modern reliability. The 1.685-inch string nut width also adds to the tuning stability and excellent intonation on this instrument. There's a vintage-style tremolo that makes it easy to add subtle vibrato effects to your playing as well. The silver-coloured Fender logo in the headstock is another nice touch.
