To mark seven decades of the Stratocaster, Fender treat the world to the limited-run 70th Anniversary edition of the Player Stratocaster. Expect that classic Strat look and feel alongside modern sound and playability, courtesy of the snug comfort of a solid alder body coated in high-gloss polyester and contoured in all the right places, and the solid stability and light tonal bite of a bolt-on maple neck.

The neck also boasts the contemporary comfort of a Modern-C profile, which combines with a classic 9.5 inch fretboard radius and set of twenty-two medium-jumbo frets to give this guitar its light and fast playing ease. The back of the neck has also been finished with satin-gloss for a more buttery feel in the fret-hand, while tuning stability is assured by a full set of Standard Cast Sealed machine heads and a two-point Synchronized Tremolo bridge.

The alder and maple wood combo lay down a full and character-packed sonic foundation framed by just the right amount of clarity and tightness, so the trebles remain warm and never get too shrill. Amplified, a pack of three Player Series Alnico 5 Strat Single-Coils deliver the full scale of ultra-variable yet familiar Strat sounds which, via the five-way switch and three control pots, can be tweaked and adapted to fit virtually any genre and playing style.
