first the downsides. The back of the neck was really rough. Its plain wood though so a quick rub with a bit of sandpaper and it was nice and smooth. The volume control was loose. it tightened up easily enough, but thats another simple quality control error.
The positives - The tuners work great, the bridge works great, the intonation was pretty much already there.
The better than expected - The nut was perfectly cut - thats one thing thats almost always a problem on ultra cheap guitars. The frets are all perfectly dressed and the fretboard feels rolled at the edges - this is something you dont often get on more expensive guitars. There was a couple of frets that benefitted from being tapped down, but there was no major problems
Its a single pickup guitar so its not to everyones taste, but if you just want a simple humbucker guitar for a spare at a gig or taking along to a practice its perfect, the stuff that its missing I never use.

Ik heb deze gitaar voor onderdelen gekocht, en dat is prima. Ik hou van de simpliciteit van het ontwerp. Ik heb enkel de hals overgehouden, helemaal aangepast en de body volledig van verf ontdaan en een nieuwe finish gegeven, er zat een barst in de lak die onder de verf volledig doorliep en de paintjob was niet perfect. De stemsleutels zijn waardeloos, de pickup is bruikbaar, maar ik heb hem vervangen. Dus: als projectgitaar: gewoon doen, als eerste gitaar: er zijn betere alternatieven.

really pretty guitar with a decent finish for the price of it. my boyfriend restrung it for me as some of them looked a bit rusty and in the hope it would play a bit nicer as there's a bit of a rattle when I play a C chord unless I press down harder. All in all you get what you pay for and it's a lovely guitar

Het idee van deze gitaar is goed. Weinig fratsen zoals de beschrijving al verteld: simpele brug en daardoor betrouwbaar, dikke hals dus ook al is het hout niet AAA kwartiers gezaagd maple trekt het niet snel krom (volgens mij zit er geen finish en ik weet niet wat daar de langer termijn effecten van zijn). Fret afwerking lijkt boven verwachting goed. Eén element met één volume pot, scheelt ook weer in de kosten en je komt er toch een eind mee.
Als je dit als je eerste elektrische gitaar koopt moet je er nog wel mee langs een gitaarshop om hem af te laten stellen, de topkam is nog echt te hoog afgesteld, de brug staat ook te hoog en de intonatie is ver van goed. Dit kan er voor zorgen dat je eerste ervaring dan aardig frustrerend is omdat het allemaal niet echt zuiver klinkt en niet lekker speelt.
Stemmechanieken zijn wmb de zwakste schakels in deze gitaar, ze lopen niet helemaal lekker en ik had bij mijn eerste restringing eentje die ik kapot draaide, die kon vervolgens alleen nog maar omlaag stemmen. Bax stuurde wel dezelfde dag nog een set nieuwe op, dus die service zit wel goed.
