General
Custom guitar builders have been making their own versions of this legendary guitar for years, but those always come with a daunting price tag. When fans requested an affordable edition of this Eddie Van Halen model, EVH decided to include it in their Striped Series Star range, which offers proper quality for a reasonable price. Both in looks and finish, this electric guitar is an exact replica of the original guitar Eddie Van Halen first used during the 1980 Invasion tour. It features the classic black & white Stripe graphic.
EVH Striped Series Star: awesome sound and a comfortable playing experience
The EVH guitar's maple neck is fitted onto the basswood Star body with a bolt-on construction. Its rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 22 jumbo frets and features a compound radius of 12 to 16 inches, which makes the guitar pleasant to play for both lead and rhythm guitarists. Strings can easily be bent in the higher positions, and the first frets still allow for effortless chords. The EVH Striped Series Star guitar delivers a warm acoustic tone with punchy accents and a light growl - ideal for heavier music styles like rock. A single EVH Wolfgang Cream humbucker offers a solid amplified sound with emphasis on the trebles.
An exceptional guitar
This EVH Striped electric guitar's volume is controlled by means of a black plastic knob, characteristically marked 'tone.' Its locking tremolo system has been licensed by Floyd Rose and features an EVH D-Tuna - a remarkable system that allows you to set your low E string down to a lower note with one simple movement. It's particularly useful if you like to switch between your standard tuning and Drop D a lot. The guitar's tremolo is accurate and stable, ensuring your guitar stays in tune. In short, this EVH electric guitar is ready for some serious shredding and a particularly interesting choice for true Eddie van Halen fans.
