The 8-string ESP LTD signature Stephen Carpenter solid-body guitar has received a set of new pickups. For the rest, though, it's largely similar to its excellent predecessor. There's still the 27" scale length, which is great if you like Deftones or similar bands, as well as the neck-through construction. Two pieces of alder and a rosewood fingerboard have been securely attached to the maple neck that runs all the way through the body. This ensures the ESP LTD SC-608B has a rich sound with plenty of sustain, as well as robust mids and a nice punch. Finally, thanks to the extended scale length and locking tuners, even the thick lower strings will stay in tune perfectly.

SC-607B Fluence: locking tuners en string-through

The biggest difference with its predecessor, is that this ESP LTD guitar features two active Fishman Fluence Signature Stephen Carpenter humbuckers. By way of the push/pull volume knob, the SC-608B Black can switch between two different voicings. The first voicing is reminiscent of the original Fluence humbucker sound - tweaked only slightly - making it great for powerful rhythms and smooth solos. The second voicing adds a bit more of an edge to the sound, with plenty of tone and gain tweaks, resulting in a sound that's almost a hi-gain version of the legendary PAF humbuckers. Finally, the fixed bridge and locking tuners make sure everything stays in tune properly, no matter how low you go or how hard you play!
