This EC-331FR has a beautiful satin-black finish, combining beautifully with the shiny black hardware. A single glance at this guitar is enough to tell that it was built to handle the rough stuff. It is meant to be played vigorously, aided by heavily overdriven amplifiers.
The dark side of the EC-331FR BLKS
The EC-331FR's body is made of mahogany and supports a set-in mahogany neck. The mahogany gives this guitar a very deep tone which is great if you're planning on playing with distortion. Additionally, the active ALH-200 pickups allow you to give the sound of this guitar proper punch. Also, this is a very versatile guitar as you can blend the sound of the pickups together at will with the separate volume controls. You can further adjust the overall sound with the tone knob.
Floyd Rose tremolo on the EC-331FR BLKS
This guitar is equipped with a Floyd Rose tremolo that allows for wickedly deep dive bombs and outrageous vibrato effects because you can bend the tremolo bridge both forwards and backwards, subsequently bending the tone upwards or downwards. To make sure that this guitar retains its tuning (even after using the tremolo) it is fitted with top locks that can be tightened after the guitar has been tuned. You can use the bridge-mounted finetuners to - that's right - fine tune this guitar.
