General

Advanced guitarists, whether they play blues, rock or metal, will be well chuffed with the LTD EC-1000FM FR STBLK. Its powerful active EMG 81 and EMG 60 humbuckers make it a highly versatile guitar. Moreover, it has a great design to go with its great sound: a Flamed Maple top, transparent black lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlays on the body, neck and headstock! To enable proper tone bending, this guitar was fitted with a genuine, extraordinarily stable Floyd Rose tremolo bridge.

The sound of the LTD EC-1000FM FR STBLK

The body of this LP-style model - with horned cutaway - is fitted with the famous EMG 81 pickup. With its neat, transparent and smooth sound, this pickup is excellent for hard work in the metal music genres. Its neighbour, the EMG 60 produces a full, fat sound that is perfect for rock, hard rock and blues, for instance. These hum-free pickups are supported by the warm, open resonant mahogany and bright touch of the maple top.

Een prachige gitaar. In het echt is hij veel mooier dan de foto laat zien. Ik heb een paar aanpassingen moeten doen. De elementen waren verschillend in geluidssterkte. Deze moesten iets worden verstelt. Bij het hals element was de onderste snaar iets zachter dan de rest. Dit is verholpen door het iets opvullen onder het element. Dit is ook voor het andere element gebeurt. Nu zitten ze steviger en verplaatsen zich niet meer. De brug is iets verschoven zodat de snaren beter liggen en nog makkelijker bespeelbaar zijn. De floydrose houdt de stemming vast. Je kan eindeloos spelen zonder te hoeven stemmen. Omstemmen kost wel heel veel tijd. Daar is deze gitaar niet voor geschikt. Maar eenmaal in de gewenste stand, dan kun je eindeloos door gaan. De tremelo gaat soms iets los na veel gebruik. Die is makkelijk en snel weer aan te draaien. Zelfs onder het spelen kan dit. Het geluid is fantastisch. Heerlijke metal gitaar. Een scheurbeest. Alles klinkt kristalhelder. Het speelt als vanzelf. Alsof je in een automaat rijd met cruise control. Deze gitaar verlaat mijn huis nooit meer. Een echte baas!!
