The Epiphone SG Special Satin E1 offers a faster and more affordable route to that unmistakable SG sound and style. Next to the Les Paul, this horned, double-cut guitar is one of the most iconic models in the known universe. And while bearing a brutal look, those cutaways have a practical function, since they ease access to the highest of the 22 medium jumbo frets, while the SlimTaper-D neck profile provides plenty of playing comfort. Guitar monster alumni including Angus Young (ACDC), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) and Jack Black (Tenacious D) agree - the SG is built to rock!

The SG Special Satin E1: A Solid Rock Axe

All of the ingredients needed to cook up that unmistakable Epiphone SG sound have been thrown in. So you get a lightweight and manageable mahogany body and neck mounted with a passive 700T humbucker at the bridge and a 650R humbucker at the neck. This thick and juicy combo delivers a warm, rich, and defined tone that can be varied using the fitted three-way selector switch and set of volume and tone pots. In terms of hardware, the Special Satin E1 has been treated to a stable LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and tailpiece, and a set of Premium, 14:1 ratio machine heads.

Je ne pensai pas avoir une telle guitare pour 200 € ! Les micros en céramique sont punchy à souhait, parfaits pour jouer du rock, hard rock et même du stoner. Sur un ampli vox vt40x le marriage est super, les harmoniques sortent facilement. Le manche est très agréable, la finition satin lui donne un super look. Achetée comme seconde guitare en complément d'une Hagstrom super deluxe, cette petite SG ne démérite pas du tout et pourrait faire palir les plus grandes.

Wat ben ik blij met mijn aankoop van de Epiphone SG Special. Ik wil graag gitaar leren spelen op een elektrische gitaar. Na wat zoek werk op internet kwam ik uit bij deze gitaar. Hij voldoet meer dan ik had durven verwachten. Voor mij als beginner klinkt en speelt de gitaar perfect. Alles is keurig netjes afgewerkt. Ik kan deze gitaar aanraden aan iedere starter, zeker als je ook nog wat geld over hebt voor een redelijke versterker.

Ik heb het gitaar spelen na jaren weer opgepakt, met het model wat ik wilde hebben vanaf mijn 16e. De gitaar heeft een lekker lage actie en klinkt fantastisch. Voor dit geld is het zeker een koopje.

Erg fijn speelbare gitaar voor relatief weinig geld.
Hals is lekker glad en humbuckers klinken prima.
Fretboard wellicht wel zelf van een beetje olie voorzien, deze is zo uit de doos wat droog.

De 4/5 komt vooral vanwege de stemmechanieken, deze vond ik persoonlijk niet bepaald solide.
Daarom deze gitaar voorzien van nieuwe stemmechanieken, een wereld van verschil!
Mocht je eenzelfde idee hebben, let er dan op dat de gaten in de headstock 8mm zijn.

Al met al zeker tevreden met mijn aankoop, erg leuke gitaar!

Hele mooie gitaar! Afbeeldingen doen hem eigenlijk geen recht, hij is mooier in het echt. Kwam best goed afgesteld, action netjes en neck ook goed. Uiteraard wel even stemmen, maar das logisch. Snaren kun je het beste meteen een beetje uitrekken, anders blijf je bezig met stemmen. Intonatie ook goed, dus eigenlijk zo spelen!

En dan die sound. Lekkere dikke rocksound als je een klein beetje overdrive aan zet, en clean zonder.

Hele leuke prijs, voor een hele leuke gitaar. Ik ben begonnen op een gitaar van 75,-. Deze is iets duurder, maar wat een verschil zeg. Old school rock sound, netjes afgewerkt en een agressieve look. Top gitaar!
