Pearl Vision VBA 'Chains'

Pear's Vision drum kits have been doing quite well on the international market for years now. Recently, Pearl has released two Limited Edition kits especially for Europe. And they certainly are limited editions, as there are only 80 of these kits available for the entire European market. This six-piece drum kit has a tough-looking Chains finish, giving the shells a rugged look. Furthermore, the kit comes with a full 830-series hardware pack. The pictured cymbals are not included, however.

Pearl Vision VBA Series

All shells in Pearl's Vision VBA series are made of six plies of birch, which gives them a nicely balanced and punchy sound, with great sustain. The depths of this kit's shells have been perfectly attuned to each other, creating a nicely balanced whole. The wood that the shells are made of is carefully selected according to thickness and hardness, while extra attention is paid to the way the plies overlap. To ensure that the shell is airtight and the resonance is optimal, the plies of wood are glued together using Pearl's Acoustiglue. Eventually, the shell is placed in a hot mould that keeps it under high pressure to give it its eventual shape. The result is an expertly finished shell with a fantastic tone and response, and optimal resonance. Furthermore, the toms and floor toms have Remo Clear Pinstripe batter and resonant heads, while the snare drum has a Coated Pinstripe batter and a Clear reso head. The bass drum, finally, has a PowerStroke3 batter head and a black resonant head.
