JBL's MSC1 puts all the monitor functions of the studio's control room right there at your fingertips. The MSC-1 is a practical, compact table controller with all of a professional monitor strip's essential functions. Considering how the acoustic properties of a room have a great part to play in the sound you hear, the MSC1 features JBL's renowned RMC (Room Mode Correction) technology. The final result is a fully calibrated reference room that collaborates with your speakers so you'll no longer have to make educated guesses while composing the mix.

The Room Mode Correction deals with the typical lower-frequency problems caused by the sonic properties of a room and by the speakers' proximity to walls or other surfaces. The JBL MSC-1 comes with a calibration microphone, Control Center Software and additional cables.
The first stage of the calibration entails accurate measurements of the audio signal of your sound system guided by the Control Center Software. When your system is measured, you can quickly calibrate your speakers and use the MSC1 as a stand-alone controller. In stand-alone mode the Control Center Software allows you to fine tune the monitor EQ, speaker balance, subwoofer balance and crossover settings.

The MSC1 is truly the hub in the wheel that is your sound system. Thanks to its many inputs and outputs it becomes a proper control station with a clear layout. The MSC1 has three stereo inputs for a digital audio workstation, mixer, electronic instrument or CD player, for instance. The main speaker outputs (labelled A) have volume control, monitor EQ and RMC to get them in tune with the room. Other outputs (labelled B) assign the volume control and input signal to another pair of monitors. Additionally, you can add a subwoofer to the A outputs and attune it with the subwoofer volume control as well as several bass crossover settings. Moreover, you can send out a signal to an artist's headphones via the headphone output.
