General
This excellent Dinky model made of alder wood and with an exceptional finish, is called the Jackson DK2MQ Chlorine Burst. In many ways it's a convincing and professional metal guitar but it can also be used for other genres such as blues and rock music. The Q stands for quilted maple which is what the beautiful top is made of. Of course, this version from the Pro Series also features a characteristic Jackson headstock and black and white pickup covers.
The DK2M: speed and comfort
In order to attend to fast-playing hard rockers and metal heads, the guitar builders of Jackson Guitars fitted this guitar with a slim Speed Neck, jumbo frets and a fretboard with a compound radius. This means that the fretboard starts off being round and flattens towards the body in order to make playing chords easier and to make sure that playing solo parts, higher up on the neck, goes as smoothly as possible. Two famous Seymour Duncan humbuckers take care of the powerful sound. The SH-1N and TB-4 are responsible for warm, vintage sounds and an extra loud, bright metal sound, respectively.
Jackson Guitars
The renowned American brand Jackson Guitars was founded in 1980 by Grover Jackson and rose to fame with its customised V-guitar for Randy Rhoads. Today, many famous guitarists play a Jackson. Jackson guitars have an elegant design, a sharp headstock, shark fin position markers and a powerful sound which is perfect for metal and hard rock. The Pro Series features many of the specifications of the handmade USA series, but comes at a much more affordable price.
