Fender Standard Stratocaster MN Lozeau Rose Tattoo

General

During the 2015 NAMM, Fender presented four exclusive Stratocasters that featured an illustration by the American cult artist David Lozeau. Lozeau gets his inspiration from Mexican folklore and North-American subcultures. This guitar was obviously inspired by tattoo art, resulting in a beautiful, striking guitar that is bound to attract attention. Even though there are only 500 of these guitars available in the world, they are still remarkably affordable. This guitar is based on the Mexican-made Standard Stratocaster, which is known for its excellent price to quality ratio.

Construction

Since the dawn of time, alder and the Stratocaster make for a perfect combination. The alder body and bolt-on maple neck ensure a balanced tone. The Rose Tattoo features a 21-fret rosewood fretboard that adds a bit of warmth to the overall tone. As far as the pickups and hardware go, Fender opted to never change a winning team and fitted it with three Fender Standard single-coils, a five-way pickup switch and a tone control with 2x tone and 1x volume for all those known and loved Stratocaster sounds. Naturally, this Strat features a vintage-style Fender tremolo unit.

David Lozeau

In America, David Lozeau made his claim to fame by his Mexican Day of the Dead inspired artwork. Lozeau draws his inspiration from punk, metal and rockabilly music, as well as from subcultures like the tattoo and hotrod scene. His work blends various styles in an often humorous way to give the establishment a nudge here and there. David Lozeau is among a group of artists who think that art should be affordable for everyone, not just a happy few. This is exactly why the affordable version of the Fender Strat makes such an excellent canvas for his style and vision.
