Fender Japan AST-M OCR

General

All the way from Fender's Japanese workshop it's the Limited Edition AST-M OCR Aerodyne Strat. Fender's Aerodyne series guitars are characterised by a streamlined body with a curved top that give these instruments more playing comfort and an exceptionally elegant look. This Japanese Fender Stratocaster has an Old Candy Apple Red lacquer for a beautiful dark-red metallic colour. Even the headstock has the same colour.

Properties of the Fender Japan AST-M Aerodyne Strat

The Fender AST-M is the medium-scale version of the Aerodyne Strat, it has a scale length of 24.75 inches and is overall 3% smaller than a traditional Stratocaster.
The body is made of the lightweight, balanced basswood and features chic white bindings. The maple neck is bolted onto the body and equipped with a 22-fret rosewood fretboard and a bevelled heel for more comfortable playing on the highest frets.

Hardware and electronics

The black pickguard of the Fender AST-M is home to a trio of Japanese single-coil pickups. A master volume, two tone controls and a 5-way pickup switch let you create several authentic Stratocaster sounds. The bridge on this guitar is a vintage-style tremolo with a massive block for more sustain and its headstock features high-quality Gotoh SD91 machine heads for smooth tuning and excellent tuning stability.
