General
Fender have relaunched their classic F-series western guitars. The new versions of the seventies Dreadnoughts feature much of the original details, such as a distinctively large headstock and a vintage-style Viking bridge for the F-1020S. The S in the type number is for Solid Top, which in this case is made of cedar. The Fender F-1020S is available in a natural finish as well as this dazzling high-gloss black version.
Fender F-1020S BLK: solid cedar top
For this steel-string acoustic guitar, Fender opted for a solid cedar top to provide it with a very warm, deep and full sound with sweet trebles (with a little help from the mahogany, Dreadnougt-size body). The mahogany neck of the F-1020S BLK features a slender C profile for comfortable playing, and a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with an elegant Fender F logo inlay next to the 12th fret.
Eye for detail
Its the little things that give this affordable steel-string guitar its luxurious appeal. For instance, the Fender F-1020S Dreadnought BLK is equipped with a Graphtech NuBone string nut and bridge saddle - a synthetic material with the same properties as real bone. Its headstock has a rosewood overlay brandishing a maple Fender logo inlay. The rosette as well as the body and neck bindings are of genuine mahogany. Its dark appearance is stressed by the black bridge pins and machine heads.
