General
A Fender Classic Player guitar guarantees a trip down memory lane. The younger generations have also fallen for the vintage-style guitars, of which Fender offers many. In honour of the Stratocaster's diamond anniversary (it was launched in 1954) Fender offers some special editions, like this 60th anniversary Classic Player '50s Stratocaster. It's a distinctive model, with a Desert Sand finish and a modern nitrocellulose lacquer.
Materials and construction
The guitar's body is made of alder and its maple neck has a soft V-profile, making it especially suited for blues-oriented guitarists. The fretbord is one with the neck and has 21 medium jumbo size frets. This guitar has a vintage-style heel-end truss rod adjustment. Striking features are the gold-coloured hardware and the gold anodized aluminium pickguard. The stock version already looks pretty vintage with its Aged White knobs, but some wear and tear will definitely do the look of this guitar justice.
Pickups
This Stratocaster has three voiced American Vintage Strat Single-Coils to reproduce that authentic Strat sound from the '50s. True to form it has two tone controls and a volume knob. This anniversary edition is delivered including Pro Series tweed case and a special commemorative anniversary book. A musical milestone, tastefully designed and finished.
