You could say that the Nord Stage 2 is like the Rolls Royce for the live keyboard player. The Nord Stage 2 features a fully developed sound, whereby high-quality sampling technology was implemented to fully capture the original nature of the various instrument sounds it houses. These samples are combined with intelligent string resonance models (String Resonance Generation 2) to fully bring them to life. You can also enjoy the Dynamic Pedal Noise, which emulates the sounds of pedals and string effects, just like you'd have with a real grand piano. A variety of grand and upright pianos are also at your disposal, along with a Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinets and harpsichords, so you can really get your Bach on.
Organ and Synth
We can't stop at just the piano features though, because the Stage 2 excels in three areas. Along with the piano section, there's also a comprehensive organ section, which offers the Hammond B3, Vox Continental and Farfisa, with full polyphony for unhindered playing freedom. The nine digital drawbars can be controlled with buttons and LEDs, and of course vibrato, chorus and key-click can be added to the mix. The synthesizer section consists of all of the basics and offers analogue modelling, as well as FM and Wavetable synthesis. Simple playback synthesis is also supported, and it has 18-voice polyphony. A variety of filters, along with an arpeggiator, unison control and 300 patch locations give the Nord Stage 2 full-fledged synth power. This Swedish powerhouse comes with USB and power cables, a user manual and a Nord Sample and Piano DVD.
