General
This Charvel is armed and ready. The Pro Mod So Cal Style 1 HH is a fiery solid-body with a Candy Apple Red finish. Guitars from Charvel's Pro Mod series are first of all designed to offer a loud, tight sound and smooth playability. The base of this guitar is its alder body, which is light of weight and has an excellent influence on the way the tone develops to maturity. The neck is made of quartersawn maple and features 22 jumbo frets and a compound radius fretboard that is narrow and slightly convex at the top and wider closer to the body.
Charvel Pro Mod So Cal: tone and purity
There is nothing in the way for fast, virtuoso playing. Soundwise, this guitar leaves even the toughest rockers with nothing to be desired as it is equipped with two Seymour Duncan humbuckers: the T6-6 Distortion next to the bridge and the SH-6N Distortion at the neck. The Floyd Rose FRT-02000 is a solid tremolo bridge that ensures an optimal tonal balance, plenty of sustain and lots of expression opportunities. The Floyd Rose R3 string nut is of the locking variety, so that even the heaviest tremolo activities and note bends are never a problem for this guitar's tuning stability. What's more, a smooth and accurate tuning is made well possible by the Grover Mini Rotomatic machine heads.
Charvel guitars
Charvel have always been known for their high-quality guitars for hard rockers and metal heads. Thanks to the Pro Mod series, even loud schredding amateur guitarists are supplied with many of the beloved Charvel features at a very reasonable price. Think of a narrow neck, a compound radius fretboard, a Floyd Rose tremolo and Grover tuners, for example. Charvel's San Dimas models are equipped with Seymour Duncan pickups and the SoCal guitars have a pickguard and Dimarzio pickups.
