General
The Akai MAX49 is an advanced keyboard controller with both USB and MIDI, as well as CV functionality. As such, it enables you to control nearly any type of controller hardware or software, from classic analogue synths to the most state-of-the-art DAWs. The MAX49 features 49 semi-weighted keys with Aftertouch for a natural feel and an excellent response, as well as twelve genuine MPC pads and eight revolutionary LED touch faders. No matter which application you use it for, making music with the Akai Max49 is a truly unforgettable experience.
MAX49: complete & equipped with revolutionary functionality
The MAX49 features four banks of eight touch-sensitive LED fader strips, enabling you to control no fewer than 32 parameters. Drag your fingers up and down a strip, just like a traditional fader, or simply jump to the right position with your fingertip. Four banks are available for the twelve backlit, pressure-sensitive MPC pads, providing you with a total of 48 assignable pads, including MPC Swing and Note Repeat functionality. The Akai MAX49 is also equipped with standard transport buttons, a backlit LCD display, rubber pitch and modulation wheels, an arpeggiator with latch and eight time division controls, plus a built-in step sequencer that allows for a detailed build up of tracks.
Control via USB, MIDI and CV
At the rear of the MAX49, you'll find a USB/MIDI port, as well as a traditional 5-pin DIN MIDI input and output. Would you like to control an old or genuinely vintage keyboard or synth? Use the 1/4-inch CV and 1/4-inch Gate outputs. An optional expression pedal, sustain pedal or foot switch can be connected by means of one of the 1/4-inch inputs. The MAX49 is supplied with AkaiConnect software, which automatically maps the buttons, pads and faders for your favourite music software, and thanks to the built-in Mackie Control and HUI protocols, the MAX49 is suitable for many popular DAWs.
