ChamSys is a well-known name in the lighting world, and with the Wings Series and the MagicQ software, they've released quite a powerful system. MagicQ software is packed with functions and works the same way as other popular lighting control software. This program can be downloaded for free. This means you don't need a lot of money, only an open DMX dongle. However, this also means you'll have to control the program with your mouse and keyboard. When you have one of the Wing controllers, though, you'll have that feeling of analogue controls and the ease-of-use of software.

The Mini Wing is the smallest controller from the Wings Series by ChamSys. This compact controller has been designed specifically for playing shows that have been programmed in the MagicQ software. Because of its size, it's often used for on-the-road purposes. Just like the regular Wing, the Mini version features ten faders, each with a play, select, and flash button. The DBO, SHIFT, RELEASE, and BLIND buttons give you full control over your software. Thanks to the included USB cable, you can connect the Mini Wing to any PC with MagicQ software, without requiring an extra power unit. The MagicQ software works with 18 fully functional universes. If you want, you can expand your DMX channels via Ethernet and get a total of 9,216 channels. The software also supports the audio input of the sound card of your PC or Mac.

For optimal compatibility with HD video, you can download a free version of ChamSys MagicHD Mediaserver. This allows you to use up to 8 HD layers, you'll have one text box and one output with keystone function, among other things. The software works on a PC as well as on a Mac.
