The improved versions of the tried-and-trusted Pioneer controllers are selling like hot cakes! The DDJ-SR2 is the updated version of the SR, is equipped with Serato, comes complete with Pitch ‘n Time and is DVS ready! That last feature means that you can connect two turntables with timecode vinyl and get to work with the DVS upgrade (sold separately). Pitch ‘n Time, which is included with this controller, allows you to mix harmonically, ensuring that if the key of the track you have lined up isn't the same as the current one, a simple push of the button will adjust it to match, and the other way around. If you're not completely satisfied with the result, just hit the reset button.

The Pioneer DDJ-SR2: Never Change a Winning Team - Make it Better

Rest assured, Pioneer has not changed their winning recipe with the DDJ-SR2 controller. Unlike its predecessor, however, switching decks now takes place above the channel strip and there's a needle search strip for finding the track you want quickly. The performance pads have altered slightly in terms of the functionality. The biggest change have to be the connection options: this device has two RCA inputs for turntables, there is no longer an aux input, and instead you've got two master outputs (RCA and XLR) as well as a separate booth jack output. Lastly, it also has a mic input on the rear.

The Highest Standard

Another great thing about the SR2 is that it can also be used as a standalone two-channel mixer. That means you won't have to connect it to your laptop in order to use it. Plug in your analogue gear and spin some records or CDs old-school-style! If you do use it with your laptop, the sky is the limit. The slightly enlarged jog wheels have low latency for perfect control and scratching possibilities. As well as an included adapter, you can also power this controller via USB (only the lights will be slightly less bright). Finally, this device is 18% lighter than its predecessor, so transporting it from A to B just got easier as well!
