At 11 kg, the VT Bass 200 Combo may be rightfully called a light-weight contender. And yet, Tech 21 have still managed to incorporate a high-end model class-D power amp that pulls 200 Watts of power out of this amp combo. The preamp section is fully analogue, contributing to a broad dynamic range. The VT-200 is based on the famous SansAmp Character Series VT-Bass and it's a given that Tech 21 like no other know how to stuff the sound of the '70s in a pocket-sized pedal.

Tech 21 VT Bass 200: Character Knob

With the drive control, you can infinitely vary between light overdrive and hi-gain sound, which, by the way, doesn't mean this amp cannot be used for cleans! The most striking feature however is the Character knob, that allows you to select various tonal flavours from different past decades, while the Blend knob can be used to mix up your overdrive and direct signals to maintain definition and sub-lows with a decent dose of drive added in.

Switchable Mids

The active tone controls can be used to boost or cut the signal by 18 dB and the mid frequencies can be switched from 500 Hz to 1 kHz. The Bite knob represents an extra presence boost and comes in handy to preserve definition in an overdriven sound. The effects loop bypass switch doubles as a mute function and the speaker outputs are Neutrik SpeakONs. All in all, this is an extremely light, yet surprisingly versatile bass amp.

Ik ben gitarist/bassist en had een 10 jaar geleden een Tech21 Boost D.L.A. aangeschaft analoog ik ben daar nog altijd zeer tevreden over geeft zeer uitgebreide klankmogelijkheden, toen ik de Tech21 VT 200 Bass 200 zag bij Bax-shop dacht ik dat dit ook wel dezelfde kwaliteit zou geven en heb er zo een aangeschaft uit de B-shop en ik ben zeker niet teleurgesteld omdat de mogelijkheden enorm zijn. Hij heeft een brede diepe klank met mogelijkheden die voor de vroegere Fender Bassman, Hartke en Markbass niet moet onderdoen, een mooi kenmerk is ook dat hij met mijn Fender Precision bas zuivere clean klanken geeft van donker diep tot helder scherp. Dank je wel Bax-Shop dit merk in je collecties basversterkers op te nemen, voor sommigen is Tech21 een onbekend merk maar daarentegen van uitstekende kwaliteit. Jozef

Tech 21 VT Bass 200 ampli combo basse j'ai remplacé il y a un mois mon ancien ampli par Tech 21 VT bass Avantage il est léger, le son est neutre je n'ai pas la main encore pour les réglages. Bien pour studio de répétition, petit concert. Pour la livraison il faut attendre au moins 3 semaines. Pour la fiabilité il attendre un peu pour avoir un jugement. Je fais le bon choix, je ne regrette pas. je conseil le tech 21. Largement au dessus Markbass, Hartke et toutes les grandes marques.
