General
The Peavey ValveKing has been renewed and is now better than ever. This series of tube guitar amps is fitted with a multitude of versatile new features. The Peavey ValveKing 20 is one of two combos from the series and has 20 genuine tube Watts of power. The ValveKing has long since been an affordable option for guitarists on a budget who are looking for the tone and quality of a Boutique valve amplifier. Like the Micro Head, this 20 Watt combo is powered by three 12AX7 and two EL84 tubes, giving it a delightfully warm, organic and dynamic sound. Thanks to the new TSI Tube Monitoring system, you can instantly see when the tubes need to be replaced.
Operating the Peavey ValveKing 20 Combo
The two channels of the Peavey ValveKing 20 Combo each have their own volume, bass, mid and treble controls. Thanks to the Bright function of the Clean Channel and the gain/volume boost of the Lead channel, you can create a plethora of sounds that range from crystal-clear cleans to devastating distortion. Moreover, the amp's Vari-Class knob (previously Texture on the back) allows you to choose between a Class A or Class AB tube sound and anything in between. Additionally, the ValveKing 20 Combo offers a built-in digital Reverb and a Damping control - a single knob that combines Peavey's Resonance and Presence controls.
Power Attenuator, Line Out and USB
The ValveKing series is now equipped with a built-in Power Attenuator, allowing you to switch between 20, 5 or 1 Watt(s) of power, which is perfect if you want to have tube distortion at lower volumes. Thanks to Peavey's MSDI (Microphone Simulated Direct Interface) you can plug into a mixer or PA system directly, so without the use of microphones. It's also ideal for recordings. Moreover, the ValveKing Head is equipped with a USB port for direct computer recording. Lastly, there's a switchable FX loop and two speaker outputs (4, 8 or 16 Ohms) to connect an optional speaker cabinet.
