General
For decades, Fender's legendary Blackface and Brownface amps have been loved by guitarists around the world. Now, Fender has combined these two classic amps into one, the Bassbreaker 18/30 Combo. It's equipped with two 12-inch V-type Celestion speakers and can deliver either 18 or 30 watts, depending on the selected channel. As far as looks are concerned, this combo has a sleek grey tweed finish, a sturdy leather handle, and is adorned with the nostalgic Fender badge.
Bassbreaker 18/30: from mean to clean
The Bassbreaker 18/30 is equipped with two 12AX7 preamp tubes and four EL84 power tubes. The switchable wattage channel allows you total control of how far you want to take your sound. When you select the 30-watt channel (the Blackface), you get clean, round tones that can be adjusted by means of the 3-band EQ and volume controls. When you're ready to shred, just activate the second channel (the Brownface). You'll have less wattage at your disposal, which means you can get an even edgier, louder overdrive when you turn up the volume and adjust the tone.
Switch
A two-channel amp is great, but not very practical if you have to run back and forth every time you want to change them. That's why Fender has included a foot switch so you can simply tap to switch between the two. There are more connectors on the rear of the amp, including two outputs for external speakers. You can connect a cabinet and use it in combination with the internal speakers, or mute the internal speakers completely. With the impedance button, you can choose between 4, 8, or the standard 16 ohms.
