The Blackstar HT-20 MkII two-channel tube combo amp comes loaded with EL84 power amp tubes and a 12-inch speaker to shape both British and American tone and, due to a tight housing, can perform just as well in the rehearsal space and studio and is does in your living room. While it tops 12 Watts, this can be dialled all the way back to more sociable 2 Watts. The HT-2 control panel is populated with vintage-style chickenhead pots able to shape wide array of tube-based tone and Blackstar have even added a specially voiced, high quality reverb for those necessary atmospherics.

The HT-20R MkII: British or American?

The two channels can be remotely flipped using the included footswitch and each channel is fitted with a Voice switch that offers a choice between tight American-style sound and a Brit-esque responsive mid-range with looser-sounding low frequencies. The second channel is the driven channel, offering access to classic British crunch that can be pushed further for more aggressive, rigid American sound with more resonant bass. While this Blackstar tube-combo comes in a retro-styled outfit, it has some uber-modern features including a USB port, a set of balanced outputs complete with speaker simulation, and a patented ISF function that gives you plenty to play with.
